
Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (Le Roncole, Busseto, 10 de octubre de 1813 - Milán, 27 de enero de 1901) fue un compositor romántico italiano de ópera, uno de los más importantes de todos los tiempos. Su obra sirve de puente entre el bel canto de Rossini, Bellini y Donizetti, y la corriente del verismo y Puccini.
Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (/ˈvɛərdi/ VAIR-dee; Italian: [dʒuˈzɛppe ˈverdi]; 9 or 10 October 1813 – 27 January 1901) was an Italian composer best known for his operas. He was born near Busseto, a small town in the province of Parma, to a family of moderate means, receiving a musical education with the help of a local patron, Antonio Barezzi. Verdi came to dominate the Italian opera scene after the era of Gioachino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini, and Gaetano Donizetti, whose works significantly influenced him.
