Música de Fondo - Trujillo

Trujillo es una ciudad peruana, capital de la provincia homónima y del departamento de La Libertad. Es la tercera ciudad más poblada del país con 1 048 800 habitantes en el año 2024.​ Está situada en la Costa Norte peruana, en el margen derecho del río Moche, en el valle de Moche.

El emplazamiento sobre el cual se encuentra este núcleo urbano fue fundado por Diego de Almagro, a finales de 1534, bajo la denominación de «Trujillo de Nueva Castilla» (grafía fundacional: Truxillo). Dicho acto fue oficializado el 5 de marzo de 1535 con la instalación de su primer cabildo, a cargo del marqués Francisco Pizarro, bajo el nombre de «Villa de Trujillo», en honor a su natal Trujillo. El 23 de noviembre de 1537 mediante real cédula expedida por Carlos V pasó a denominarse «Ciudad de Trujillo».

Entre las manifestaciones culturales más representativas destacan el Festival Internacional de la Primavera, la Feria Internacional del Libro​ y el Festival Nacional de la Marinera, evento cultural que se realiza cada año en enero y que se centra en un concurso de marinera, la danza nacional oriunda de esta ciudad.

Trujillo (Spanish: [tɾuˈxiʝo]; Quechua: Truhillu; Mochica: Cɥimor) is a city in coastal northwestern Peru and the capital of the Department of La Libertad. It is the third most populous city and center of the third most populous metropolitan area of Peru. It is located on the banks of the Moche River, near its mouth at the Pacific Ocean, in the Moche Valley. This was a site of the great prehistoric Moche and Chimu cultures before the Inca conquest and subsequent expansion.

Trujillo is also known as the "City of Everlasting Spring", is considered the "Capital of the Marinera", a traditional dance in Peru, "Cradle of the Peruvian Paso horse", as well as the "Capital of Culture of Peru". It has sponsored numerous national and international cultural events, and has a lively arts community. Current festivals include the "National Marinera Festival", the Trujillo Spring Festival and the International Book Festival, which is one of the most important cultural events in the country.
